History
Route 72 ... Began as Cust's Butcher Shop
Steve and Annette Thomson, the present owners restored the neglected and disused Butchers Shop building and opened the "Country Provedor" in 1992. Trade consisted of home produced herbal products (dried herbs, teas, and a range of personal care products) and also served as an outlet for other locally made crafts. Local market gardeners established a fresh fruit and vegetable business which was carried on by Annette and Steve for 5 years. As other commitments increased with a young family of 3 boys (and another one later) the evolution of the Emporium grew while the fresh trade was faded out. The dream of adding on café was always in the background, it's fruition in December 2006 gives us much pleasure in offering you the new "Route 72" Experience.
